Brooklyn Skate Moms
New York, New York, US
Meeting Schedule
Monthly weekend park meetups and informal weekday sessions
A supportive community of older women, working mothers, and returning adult skaters organizing relaxed weekend park roll-outs, beginner clinics, and peer encouragement across Brooklyn and NYC skateparks.
Featured across national media for reshaping the face of East Coast skateboarding, the Brooklyn Skate Moms began as an informal group of parents and working women who picked up skateboards alongside their children and found a lifelong passion. The group has grown into a vibrant collective organizing monthly park sessions and weekend roll-outs across New York City.
The community places a heavy premium on safety, non-judgmental encouragement, and camaraderie: pads and helmets are celebrated, and sessions are paced around building balance, comfortable carving, and kickturns rather than high-stakes stunts. The group regularly skates municipal parks across Brooklyn and Queens, cross-pollinating with SKATEYOGI Adult Open Skate and heading to Labor Skateshop on Canal Street for hardware and wheel upgrades.
