Portland's premier 18,000 sq ft concrete street plaza featuring wide flatground lanes, mellow low-rise ledges, and landscaped biofiltration buffers, offering a low-impact alternative to tight transition parks.

Opened in 2009 as Portland’s first designated skate plaza, Ed Benedict is an environmentally integrated 18,000-square-foot concrete facility built with rain gardens and biofiltration islands that divide the park into distinct, low-stress zones. Unlike the steep, fast coping lines of Burnside, Ed Benedict emphasizes technical flatground, gentle banks, and low ledges that allow older skaters to rebuild muscle memory with low consequence.

Arrive during the early morning hours between 5am and 9am for quiet, uninterrupted runs across the wide concrete avenues. Before your session, visit Cal Skate Skateboards on NW 6th Avenue in downtown Portland for setup adjustments and softer wheels.
