A 30,000-square-foot all-concrete facility in Mandeville's Pelican Park expanded by New Line and Grindline Skateparks with night lighting until 9pm, a street plaza, an elbow bowl, and Louisiana's first concrete pump track.

Located at the north end of the Pelican Park athletic complex across from the Bark Park dog park in St. Tammany Parish, Pelican Park Skate Park (also known locally as Pelican’s Nest) tripled in size to 30,000 square feet of poured concrete designed and built with New Line Skateparks and Grindline Skateparks. Operated by Recreation District #1 with daily 7:00am to 9:00pm hours, upgraded overhead night lighting, shade structures, spectator seating, and water bottle refill stations, the park gives older skaters on Lake Pontchartrain’s Northshore a practical way to beat Gulf Coast heat and workday schedules.

The expanded footprint is built around three distinct zones: Louisiana’s first all-concrete pump track, a broad street plaza with low ledges, flat bars, manual pads, and banks, and a deeper elbow-shaped transition bowl. Returning skaters can rebuild leg strength and carving rhythm on the continuous, no-push concrete pump track rollers or outer plaza ledges without dropping into deep transition. Keep in mind that the park is unsupervised (“skate at your own risk”), and Recreation District #1 designates specific bike sessions (such as Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday mornings from 7:00am to 9:00am)—check posted complex rules and aim for early weekday mornings for the calmest skateboard-only flow. You can also pair a Northshore session here with Parisite Skatepark across the Causeway in New Orleans or Perkins Road Community Park Skatepark in Baton Rouge.
