Shaw Skatepark
Washington, District of Columbia, US
Terrain & Features
A centrally located concrete park in D.C. featuring a diverse layout with a flow bowl and street elements, allowing new skaters to progress at their own pace during quieter hours.
Shaw Skatepark is a popular, concrete community park situated in the heart of Washington, D.C. Renovated with a smooth surface and later enhanced with a flow bowl, the facility offers a diverse mix of transition and street elements.
The parkβs varied layout allows returning skaters to find a comfortable zone and progress at their own pace. Because of its central location, it can draw a crowd; beginners are encouraged to observe the flow of the park and visit during quieter, off-peak periods to build confidence. Be aware that while official hours are dawn to dusk, the gates are occasionally reported locked in the early evening. For a bike- and scooter-free street plaza session on the east side of the District, you can also visit the Skate Park at RFK Campus.
