Taku Lake Skatepark
Anchorage, Alaska, US
Terrain & Features
Custom 10,111 sq ft Grindline concrete park in Anchorage featuring a gentle whale-tail flow bowl, mellow street obstacles, and bright LED lighting extending sessions through long subarctic evenings.
Constructed by Grindline Skateparks in partnership with the local recreation department, Taku Lake Skatepark is a 10,111-square-foot cast-in-place concrete facility set alongside the Campbell Creek Trail in south Anchorage. For older skaters, the course provides a measured balance of low-impact flow and technical obstacles, headlined by a mellow, open-ended whale-tail transition bowl with wide rolled decks and gentle bank entries.
The flatground corridor incorporates flat bars, low slappy curbs, and shallow manual pads that allow returning skaters to dial in stance and kickturns without contending with sudden drop-offs. Municipal LED lighting illuminates the park until 11:00 PM, making evening rides after work viable during shoulder seasons. Note that Alaskan freeze-thaw cycles can leave concrete damp or gritty early in the day; allow morning moisture to burn off before skating aggressive transition lines.
