A zoned all-concrete municipal skatepark in Grand Island's Pier Park rebuilt by Artisan Skateparks with evening lighting, separating approachable street ledges, banks, and mini-ramp transitions from larger flow features.

Situated inside Pier Park just south of downtown Grand Island, Pier Park Skatepark underwent a nearly $900,000 complete reconstruction by Artisan Concrete Services (Artisan Skateparks) that replaced its original 2001 steel-and-wood ramps with a modern, low-maintenance poured-concrete facility. Operated by Grand Island Parks and Recreation with daily park access from 5:30am to 11:00pm and overhead night lighting, the park gives older skaters in central Nebraska both quiet sunrise windows and illuminated evening sessions after work.

Artisan’s design divides the slab into distinct riding zones so returning skaters can warm up on smooth flatground, mellow banks, low manual pads, flat rails, and smaller mini-ramp transitions without getting tangled in faster cross-park lines over the spine and central funboxes. Note that the unsupervised municipal park welcomes BMX bikes, scooters, and inline skates alongside skateboards, and summer afternoons near the adjacent Pier Park lake and recreation amenities draw heavy youth traffic—making early mornings or lit weeknight sessions the best times to roll. Skaters travelling across Nebraska along I-80 can also pair an outdoor session here with the 19+ Sunday evening sessions at The Bay Skatepark in Lincoln.
