Uprise Skateshop

Chicago's long-running independent skate shop in Wicker Park, trading for more than 25 years and open for in-store shopping every day but Sunday. A full core-shop range — decks, hardware, shoes and apparel — from a crew that has outlasted most of the city's skate retail.

Uprise has been part of Chicago skateboarding for over a quarter of a century, long enough that the closing of its upstairs “Uprise Loft” was marked as the end of an era. The shop on Milwaukee Avenue is open noon to 7pm Monday through Saturday, with curbside pickup available, and the online store offers free domestic shipping on orders over $75. Pair it with a session at Grant Park Skate Park downtown, Wilson Skate Park on the North Side lakefront, or make the trip to Asylum Skatepark for indoor sessions.
